Welcome to Digital Writing Tools in an ASL Accessible Format

This is a real workspace!  Please edit this page, create new pages, and invite others to use the workspace with you.

GOAL:The goal for this Wiki is to explore and explain various digital tools/sites/programs that can be used to advance literacy. The explanations and exploration will take various forms but will focus primarily on hypertexts, this wiki, and embedded ASL'mini lectures.' This is a wiki meaning it is meant to grow and to be shared. We would like your contributions. Please e-mail the administrator to get edit access.

MOTIVATION: This site was created as part of a course final project for the"Digital Literacy"course offered at the University of MN. My professional motivation for creating an ASLaccessible site is the lack of ASL accessible explanations I found when learning about these tools. Both teachers and students are the focus of this site. Some sections are geared more toward one audience over another, but the only limitation is your creative use and adaptability. I hope you find this information and these tools useful!

AUTHOR: The original creator of this wiki, Lisa,is a deaf education teacher who taught in a residential school for the deaf as a language arts/literacy teacher. With passions for literacy, ASL, technology, and looking for creative new ways to use new tools, it is my hope this platform will serve as a place for all of these elements to come together with positive growth for deaf and hard of hearing youth as a result.
